Grants

Direct support for amateur radio.

EARU aims to provide practical financial and material support to individual radio amateurs, clubs and technical projects where funding can make a meaningful difference.

Grant areas

Support based on real amateur-radio needs.

Grants are intended to help radio amateurs remain active, develop their stations, participate in demanding operating activities and carry out technically meaningful projects. Priority may be given where health, disability or financial circumstances create a significant barrier.

01

Accessible individual stations

Priority support for radio amateurs with disabilities, long-term health limitations or limited financial means, including those receiving disability pensions. Support may help build, maintain or adapt an independent amateur-radio station, including equipment, antennas and accessibility-related technical solutions.

02

Operating & contest grants

Support for contest participation, portable and field operations, expeditions and other demanding amateur-radio activities where travel, equipment or operating costs would otherwise limit participation.

03

Technical development

Support for antennas, measurement equipment, station improvements, experimental hardware and software, open technology and other technically meaningful amateur-radio development.

04

Clubs & shared projects

Support for collective stations, amateur-radio clubs, shared infrastructure, education and projects that provide practical benefit to a wider radio-amateur community.

Principles

Independence, fairness and practical impact.

Amateur radio is based on individual initiative, technical competence and self-reliance. EARU support is therefore intended to remove specific barriers or enable worthwhile activity, rather than replace the applicant's own responsibility, knowledge and contribution.

Applications should be assessed according to published criteria and the expected amateur-radio, technical, educational or accessibility benefit of the proposed support.

Programme development

Grant programmes are being prepared.

EARU is currently developing its grant framework, eligibility criteria, application procedures and funding priorities. Calls for applications will be published here when individual programmes become available.
